TOLL OVER VELVET URBAN STYLES Ft. 'WHATIWOREWHATIWORE'

January 30, 2017

Hey there,

You won't agree with me enough when I say that velvets seem to disappear sooner. Certainly, they were a huge hit back in 70's and again in today's date, it has taken an enormous toll over the fashion trends. I am not usually the one who believes, to keep up with the trends, but lately I have been loving velvets so much that I just want it to be in vogue forever.

I feel that velvet has settled itself to the best without any bargain, particularly in the urban style fashion. Be it Hippie's to Punk fashion or Peppy to Feminine, velvet has never been a disappointment. Moreover, I can lay my hands on velvet in an endless number of colours in a variety of apparel and I suppose none of them may look too extraordinary or tacky if styled justly.

Thus, I and Insha Soni who is a Delhiite blogger have come up with two amazing velvet street style trends. But before anything, let me introduce you all to Insha Soni, She is an astounding fashion blogger and she runs a blog named after 'What I Wore'. Since, she is from Delhi, I have never met her virtually but known her socially, I do talk to her and she is damn polite and I must say the sweetest of all. She is the kind and helpful person and I am glad I know her. Her style is just like her- subtle, elegant and yet one of a kind. Apart from blogging, she is a wonderful Architect and no doubt this is why her life revolves around fashion, lifestyle and interiors.  She says a big 'Hello' to you all.

So let me take you guys for a little flashback moment and tell how did this all occur!?
It was exactly two months back when Shona from The Digital Rose happened to make me and Insha reach randomly for a blog post in collaboration with each other and since then I & Insha have worked tremendously in bringing out our best in the blog post.

We mutually decided to go with the Velvet trend since we both adore it. And we thought that it would be great enough to depict two different minds from different cities taking over the most obvious trend in our own exceptional style. For the same, we couldn't thank enough to The Digital Rose to make bring us together and make it happen! Without draining in much time I will get into the details of the outfit.

Talking about me, I preferred to choose an unusual colour in velvet, hence I went over with the grey romper. I opted for a romper because I think it's always wise to wear a romper since it does not require any extra effort to style it. Thus, it's not time-consuming yet light on our pockets.

Also, I have added a little twist to the outfit, as you can see I have tried a choker out of what was supposed to be a knot in my upper back. I thought that a choker out of the same outfit would complement it super well. For the shoes, I walked on with a pair of black strappy heels and added a pair of reflectors to my outfit.  Further, I always like to try out disparate hair do's and this time I went with cute little muffin buns. Let me know whether you guys liked it or no?

Talking about Insha, definitely, she has played safe with velvets for this season. I loved how smartly she combined reds, whites and blacks. Her outfit is absolutely at the point. I am totally going gaga over the way she has paired that red velvet spaghetti top with the beautiful plaid skirt. And oh! I can't resist myself from crushing over her ankle-length boots, they look so stunning.

She has dressed this whole ensemble over a pair of black stockings and layered it with a clean and graceful white Jacket. Moreover, those sunnies and minimally paired accessories add the exactly needed oomph to the outfit.

It was just a mere co-incidence where I and she styled a lighter and darker tinge of velvet outfit respectively. I think she has styled her outfit in more of a punk and gothic fashion, keeping it cheerful yet sophisticated and whereas I have styled more like a feminine and working it in uniformity and elegance.

I would like to hear from you guys how well did you like it and would you guys like to see more such guest blogs Let me know howsoever by any means whichever is comfortable for you.!! Following are the direct links to my social networks.
